Alta Equipment Company installs its first Combilift Straddle Carrier in Michigan
The
88,000 lb Combilift Straddle Carrier
(Combi-SC) was recently installed at a large steel fabricator in Sterling
Heights.
Lisa
Harr, Account Manager, worked with this customer for several months to
understand the needs of their operation to develop a custom solution for their operation.
Given that this truck would be used to transport, store, and load heavy
containers, Lisa knew the Combi-SC was exactly what the customer was looking
for. The Combi-SC is the most
economical handling solution for industries with heavy and oversized loads. Its
maneuverability, light footprint and high customization offer complete
independence when moving containers and oversized loads.
The Sterling Heights
operations crew (Sr Technicians – John Bartkowiak,
Jim Lehr Sr., Service Manager – John Kohls) partnered
with a technical engineer at Combilift to have the unit ready in just two days.
This was
Alta’s first Straddle Carrier installation in Michigan, but it’s Alta’s third overall. The first was an 80,000 lb unit went to South Bend, IN and the
second was a 40,000 lb unit in Pennsylvania.
